Ear Acupuncture Training

Everyone should have access to relaxation, rest, and renewal.

We are committed to reducing barriers and increasing access to community acupuncture and the benefits it offers. 5NP (Five Needle Protocol), also known as NADA, Acu-Detox, or Ear Acu-Wellness, is an effective, inexpensive, and accessible way to do this. Many of us are already working in community settings where providing 5NP would be a natural fit.

What is 5NP?

Developed by community activists beginning in the 1970s, 5NP, uses five specific acu-points on the outer ear. It is easy to learn and apply in a variety of settings and is especially condusive to group or community environments.

Is it legal?

Every state has different regulations. In Vermont, anyone can learn and offer 5NP provided they have proper training in handling acupuncture needles and don't claim to be an "acupuncturist" or make any statements about curing illness. You can find the language in the Vermont law by clicking THIS LINK. *See (Title 26: Professions and Occupations > Chapter 75: Acupuncturists >Subchapter 1: GENREAL PROVISIONS > § 3402. Prohibitions; offenses; exemptions; evaluating nonacupuncturists > Section (g)
